Roncalli High School presents the Saint John XXIII Forum: An in-depth exploration of the rich diversity of Catholic intellectual tradition throughout the millennia.
During the course of the next year, the forum will gather four times to listen and digest texts from early Church Fathers.
On October 1, Dr. Paul Schweigl will present St. Augustine’s De Doctrina Christiana. St. Augustine’s De Doctrina Christiana to explore how to understand Scripture and how to share with others what has been understood. Augustine urges us to see the love of God and love of neighbor as the outcomes of any proper interpretation of Scripture. This classic text offers an excellent window into the mind of one of Christianity's greatest minds as he sought, as any good bishop would, to equip the faithful to encounter God through the reading of His Word.
Future dates include:
November 19: Mr. Taylor Geiger will present St. Athanasius's On the Incarnation
March 11: Mrs. Callie Hynek will present St. Clement's Who is the Rich Man that Shall Be Saved?
May 6: Fr. David Beaudy will present St. Hippolytus's The Apostolic Tradition
