May 22, 2023The 39th Annual Roncalli Pierside Auction saw great support from the Lakeshore community and raised nearly $300,000 this year. Proceeds from the auction will benefit students attending Roncalli Elementary School, Roncalli Middle School and Roncalli High School.
The 39th auction included the online component and in-person event. Completely different items were available for bidding online from April 26-May 3 than at the in-person event, which took place on Saturday, April 29 at Roncalli High School.
Thanks to the generosity of area businesses and the Roncalli community, including faculty, staff, families and alumni, Roncalli Catholic Schools has consistently managed to raise close to this same dollar amount for the last five years.
“The Roncalli Pierside Auction is a true testament to the very meaning of community,” said Candice Giesen, director of development for Roncalli Catholic Schools. “Each year, we continue to be grateful for the outpouring of support this event receives. Whether it’s now through the online auction, or the continuation of the in-person event, the generosity of our donors, sponsors, general co-chairs, committee members, faculty and staff, and everyone who supports the auction makes it possible to continue to raise funds to support the education of students. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the auction!”
The Roncalli Pierside Auction provides funding for Roncalli schools primarily in the area of tuition assistance. About 65 percent of Roncalli families receive some form of tuition assistance. Gifts to the auction allow Roncalli Catholic Schools to continue to serve students of all economic backgrounds by providing them with a quality education.
The Roncalli Pierside Auction will celebrate a milestone anniversary next year! Everyone is invited to save the date for the 40th Annual Roncalli Pierside Auction, which will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Please watch for more details regarding the event to be released at a future date.
